The In-Mold Electronics (IME) technology allows a disruptive twist to the concept of human-machine interfaces. Discrete printed circuit boards and electronic components can be integrated into 3D injection-molded plastics, creating a seamless and boundless structure to deliver high value-added products manufactured on a large scale.

Plastronics (IME) makes it possible to get rid of structural constraints, so that innovative products can be developed with new functionalities and full customization in terms of aesthetics and shape. These new three-dimensional interfaces combine elegance, modernity and intuitive user interaction.


The In-Mold Electronics (IME) manufacturing technology, which Embega has been working on for more than 3 years, is based on the combination of four highly developed processes in the industry:

  • Functional printing (screen printing)
  • Surface assembly of components
  • Thermoforming
  • Plastic injection

In this way, a solution is achieved that combines aesthetic, structural and functional functions in a single 3D design. This combination generates a robust, highly durable solution (absence of adhesion and mechanical movements, watertightness), with a reduced volume/weight and total flexibility in the design.
