About Embega
HISTORY OF EMBEGA
On December 14, 1972, Commander Eugene Cernan took a walk on the moon. He was the last human being to be there. That same year Embega was born, when a group of workers from AGNI, a manufacturer of stoves, cookers and household appliances, contacted Caja Laboral and founded the cooperative.
The cooperative started with 43 members who were dedicated to machining, silk-screening and lithography of metal plates for household appliances, automatisms, and other decorative elements. In 1979, the anodizing and galvanizing plant for aluminum profiles was started up, with 120 workers.
In the 1980s, part of the business was diversified, and two new activities emerged. The first focused on screen printing (printed sealing gaskets), and the second on the production of membrane keyboards for sectors such as vending and machine tools.
In early 2013, a new product line was launched, a natural evolution of membrane keypads: flexible, backlit and capacitive buttons and keypads, within the HMI division.

Embega's differential value over its competitors lies in the engineering-based solutions that the Villatuerta-based company offers to the customer and the knowledge of the customer's value chain, customized aesthetics, branding and the specific need of each customer. The pandemic led to a boom in orders, with an increase of more than 20% compared to the pre-pandemic period.

Embega and sustainability
Why sustainability?
At Embega, we see sustainability as an opportunity to innovate in the cooperative project, and we want to be leaders in adapting the cooperative project to a new era characterized by sustainability.
What is sustainable development?
Sustainability is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of the future.
Social sustainability
On the social level, sustainability promotes the development of people, communities and cultures to achieve an adequate and equitable overall level of quality of life, health and education. The struggle for gender equality, especially in developing countries, is another aspect that will shape the foundations of social sustainability in the coming years.
Environmental sustainability
In its environmental aspect, sustainability defends the fact that nature is not an inexhaustible source of resources and ensures their protection and rational use. Aspects such as care for the environment, investment in renewable energies, water saving, a commitment to sustainable mobility and innovation in construction and sustainable architecture contribute to achieving environmental sustainability on several fronts.
Economic sustainability
Sustainability also seeks to promote economic growth that generates equitable wealth without harming natural resources. An egalitarian investment and distribution of economic resources will enable the other pillars of sustainability to be strengthened in order to achieve complete development.
Sustainable development goals
Our commitment to sustainability is a commitment to our raison d'être. We understand that social progress, environmental balance and economic growth must go, and only then will they go, hand in hand. That is why we contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The best way
to predict the future
is to invent it
